A Computer Club for Seniors to Learn & Socialize

 

 

 

 

Computing for Convenience

If you have experience in using the Internet and are interested in music and photography and have a good basic computer knowledge this new course could be for you.

Three different tutors will guide you as you explore convenient ways your computer can help you to enjoy some of your favourite retirement pastimes.

Please note this course does not run on those Wednesdays (i.e. the third Wednesday of each month) when the General Meeting is held. However it does run for two hours on each of the seven weeks of the course to make up the time lost at the Meetings.

Weeks 1, 2 & 3 - Travel Made Easy

Tips and hints on many aspects of preparation for travel, including finding heavenly placers to stay, researching places to visit with opening times. Also preparing a useful detailed Travel Itinerary and an easily updated spreadsheet for multiple cash conversions into all the currencies you will encounter - and more...

Weeks 4 & 5 - Ways wise Irfanview to with Music & Pictures

Edit CD music tracks for your special projects with a free program. Use Irfanview to singly resize your photographs, and learn how this free program allows you to resize in 'bulk' for real convenience.

Weeks 6 & 7 - Exploring Picture Management Programs

An opportunity to explore the strengths and understand the deficits of working with the free Picassa Program and discover Microsoft Office Picture Manager "hiding" in your Microsoft Office Program.

Work and Play

This course is made up of 4 separate segments and offers a taste of various programs, including PowerPoint, Photo Story 3 and Money.

Students should have completed the basic Computer courses and be keen to explore new ways of working and playing on their computers.
